[Drama]Hi My Sweetheart 海派甜心

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Started watching Taiwanese drama, Hi My Sweetheart a few days ago. The show is still airing over at Taiwan now, so gotta wait patiently for each episodes to be up every single week which is quite a pain....

Show Luo is really good acting as the dorky Lin Da Lang with all his stupid expressions. Here's just a glimpse of some of his expressions.

On the other hand, Lin Da Lang's transformation to the playboy, Xue Hai was really a huge one. Just compare the pictures below with those above.

Show Luo's acting was good and provides much entertainment with his stupid gestures and expressions when he was taking on the role of Lin Da Hai. I think we'll get to see more of his acting as Xue Hai later on in the episodes where it is more serious and where there's deeper emotions involved.

This is the first drama I'm watching with Rainie Yang as the female lead. The only impression I have of her acting is in Meteor Garden, where she only had a minor role and I could barely remember her role. Gotta say that her acting as Chen Bao Zhu is really not bad. The way she expressed her character and emotions is just right. It's not over-the-top nor too subtle. Chen Bao Zhu is a character with alot of deep emotions and who would rather keep them inside then to say them out loud, hence there's alot of inner emotions involved which may be quite challenging. Good acting by Rainie Yang here.

Lee Wei acted as Chen Bao Zhu's senior, He Yan Feng. When I saw Lee Wei here, I thought; "Gosh, what happened to the manly and charismatic Zi Cong we once see in Bull Fighting?" I think the main problem is that Lee Wei put on a bit of weight here, and to add on, the long hair/pony-tail don't really suit him.

Overall, a great drama to watch so far. Entertaining, funny and good acting. Can't wait for the next episode. The wait is really killing me....

[Movie] Avatar

Watched Avatar last week, but didn't managed to catch the 3D one since there's only the front rows left when we wanted to buy the tickets. Movie was not bad. The effects are quite pretty. But I still think the blue people is ugly and they all looked exactly the same except for their clothings (if they're wearing one). Plot was alright. Overall, an okay movie to watch.

Just finished watching You're Beautiful. The drama is not bad though the general plot is nothing new. Actually, the plot is exactly like Hana Kimi. I'll show you exactly how are the dramas similar. The general plot: A girl pretending to be a guy (The female lead. Lu Rui Xi in Hana Kimi and Go Mi Nam in You're Beautiful) and trying to bluff her way through the group of guys she hang out with. However, the guys started to discover her identity gradually (Yi Quan in Hana Kimi and Hwang Tae Kyung in You're Beautiful) and started taking care of her. The only thing is that in You're Beautiful, there's also another guy who found out about the girl's gender earlier (Kang Shin Woo) and took care and look after her. Do I have to mention it? He's a real sweetheart. Lastly there's also a guy (the more comical character. Xiu Yi in Hana Kimi and Jeremy in You're Beautiful) that is kept in the dark and is the last to know of the truth. And that guy would be suspecting and be paranoid that he's a gay, so trying to suppress his emotions for her. Yeah, that's the general plot. See, even the characters in the dramas fit.

Even though the plot is nothing new, I think You're Beautiful is still worth the watch. Unlike in Hana Kimi where the female lead only revealed her gender till the end, the identity of the female lead in You're Beautiful was revealed earlier and it's interesting seeing how the plot will go from there.

Park Shin Hye- acting as Go Mi Nam/Go Mi Nyu

The female lead, Park Shin Hye in You're Beautiful, really resembles Yoon Eun Hye.She's like a smaller and younger version of Yoon Eun Hye. I don't know if it's because of her looks, but some of her expressions and actions/acting really reminds me of her.
Yeah, Park Shin Hye is cute acting as Go Mi Nam.

The male characters in You're Beautiful are quite cute too. And to add on, all the lead characters for the drama are all quite young.

Jang Geun Suk acting as Hwang Tae Kyung

Jang Geun Suk acting as the "cold" and peculiar leader, Hwang Tae Kyung brings something rather refreshing for the drama. Somehow, his actions brings out a kind of "weirdness" to the character and the thing with the eyeliner going on actually reminds me of L in the manga, Death Note. I think he'll look much better without the eyeliner though. Also, I like his smile. He looks so cute when he smile as there's a boyish vibe to it, which is in total contrast to the "cold" Hwang Tae Kyung in the drama.

His usual expression in the drama

In contrast with his cute and rare smile in the drama (he only started smiling more towards the end of the episodes)

And here's a few random pics of Jang Geun Suk.

Jung Yong Hwa acting as Kang Shin Woo

Kang Shin Woo (acted by Jung Yong Hwa) is a total sweetheart in the drama. Who won't want to date such a guy in real life? He's got a coolness plus sweetness to his character.

Lee Hong Ki acting as Jeremy

Lee Hong Ki's character as Jeremy is comical. He's the cutie and funny guy in the drama. I thought he's really cute when I first begin watching the drama.

Enjoyable drama overall that is worth the watch. I like the songs for the drama too.
